Visit to Peenemünde

Expedition 5: Bunkers at Peene river

At the bicycle trail between Karlshagen and Peenemünde you can find a number of bunker ruins.
These bunkers were the former interim storage for the test stand 11.  At test stand 11 the rockets built at the experimental serial plant should be tested.
In all, there were 9 bunkers, each of which had two railway tracks.
After the war the bunkers were blown up. The ruins remind a bit of ancient aquaeducts.
